Our commitment
The Scottish Bame Women wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people with visual, hearing, motor and cognitive impairments. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we have done
- Clear, consistent layouts with readable text sizes and strong colour contrast.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images.
- Full keyboard navigation, visible focus outlines and a skip-to-content link.
- A mobile menu that works with touch, keyboard and screen readers.
- Respect for your system’s “reduced motion” setting: animations switch off automatically.
- Photo slideshows that pause when you hover or focus them.
Known limitations
The embedded Google Map on the contact page is a third-party component; its accessibility is controlled by Google. The address is always available as text next to the map, and on our contact page.
Feedback
If you find any part of this website difficult to use, please tell us through the contact form and we will do our best to fix it. If you need information in another format — large print, for example — just ask.
